Doors

My love affair, explored on five continents!

… welcoming, forbidding, gated, guarded,  stooped, staired, stone, simple, sideways, elegant, elephantine, painted, plain, helpful, head-cropping, decorated, dumpy, graffiti-ed, glass, wooden, wiped-out, rounded, rustic, familiar, fantastic; into ruins, restaurants, boutiques, bungalows, churches, chapels, museums, municipal buildings, cathedrals, castles, anywhere…..

I love doors and I lvoe your doors, wow! My favorite on your gallery of doors is the tree roots growing around and pouring down the sides of the door!

  3. Hi Carole, yep, that one IS amazing, isn’t it? It’s Ta Prohm, not too far from Angkor Wat, near Siem Riep, Cambodia. The temple was used as a location for the first Tomb Raider film starring Angelina Jolie, and I’m sure many who saw that movie thought it must have been an imaginary place or just a movie set…. but it’s NOT. Here’s a link to info about it — http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ta_Prohm. Glad you liked the post and will look forward to seeing you around town soon!

I really, really, really love this slide set. This beckons a book, I’m sure you know. I expect you are already working on it. If you aren’t, shame on you!

    • Oh Jackl, thanks for the encouragement! And yes, I *am* thinking book…. actually I’m tackling the whole month-long series to decide whether the travel book I’m working on needs photos. So far — YES to that, too. Have a great weekend and hope to see you, soon!
